Troubleshooting uploading problems

1. Sometimes the solution for upload troubles are to simply try your upload again.

2. If the file is larger than 300MB, we do recommend using the Motionbox Express Uploader which will ensure a more reliable upload.

3. When using our web-based uploader, make sure your computer doesn't enter "sleep" or "hibernate" mode during the upload process or your video won't complete its upload.

  • * If you want to step away from your PC while uploading a large file, simply go to your Control Panel. Find your "Power Options" and set your computer to go to sleep "Never".
  • *On a Mac, Find your "System Preferences" and then "Energy Saver" options. Be sure to choose that it "never" goes to sleep.  Once the upload has completed, change settings back.
  • 4. If you are running antivirus software on your computer, it may cause some trouble with your upload.

  • *When you start the web uploader, you may see a "please wait" window appear. Please do wait for a little while until you then see the upload window.
  • *Once you upload your video, you may see the progress zoom to 100%. Keep this window open! There is a smaller indicator that the video is "confiming" - let this resume. You can even minimize the window and do other tasks on your computer if you need to.
  • *The window should then update you that your upload is complete when it has completed. Check your account to see the video encoding (processing for playback)
  • 5. Please remember that upload timing and speeds may vary depending on the size of your video or your internet connection.

    6. Uploading is the first part of getting your video online. Your video will then need to optimize for playback. If you need more help with encoding/optimization/processing of your video, please refer to our Troubleshooting Processing Problems help page.
