Rules for Membership
• Your email address must be a valid, working email address you can be reached at should we need to contact you.
• Only one account per user can be created. Multiple accounts or variations of the same username will be removed.
Rules for Uploading Content
Copyright-Protected Videos
As a registered member of Motionbox, you agree that the content you upload is your own and that you created or own the rights to this content.
• Copyrighted film, television, or music is not permitted anywhere on our site and will be removed, regardless of whether you are a Basic, Premium, or Pro user.
• You may not upload content to which you do not own the rights, even if you believe the copyright owner has given you permission to use it. We believe that Beyoncé is your cousin’s next-door neighbor and that she said you could post her video on Motionbox, but it’s still not allowed.
• Television news or documentary segments are not permitted. If you are the producer of a segment or have created a demo reel, this information must be added to the description area of your video.
• If you have the rights to television, film, or music content that you upload to Motionbox, you must state this clearly in the description area of your video.
• If a video that you created has been removed from Motionbox in error, please refer to our Terms & Conditions for information on how to file to a counter claim.
Video Games
• If you are a video game developer, a clear description of your involvement needs to be input into the description area of your video or it is subject to removal.
• Video game captures or video game content is not permitted. Machinima videos may be allowed, given this information is placed into the description field of the video itself.
Obscene or Mean Content
• No adult-themed videos or pornography
• No violent, hateful, or defamatory videos.
• No videos depicting harm or exploitation of minors.
Commercial Content
Motionbox Basic and Premium memberships are intended for personal video sharing only.
• The following content is NOT permitted on Basic or Premium accounts:
o Advertisements or infomercials for any commercial venture or product
o Real estate videos and tours
o Video promoting any for-profit business
o Videos that display your company’s logo as a watermark or website address of a commercial site
o Videos embedded on advertising-supported websites
• The following content IS permitted on Basic or Premium accounts, as long as your usage is within the limits of your account type:
o Auditions or demo tapes by actors, directors, musicians, or artists (provided you own the rights to all content).
o Educational videos (e.g. algebra lessons, cooking demonstrations)
o Religious or spiritual videos
o Video “shows” or podcasts unrelated to any business or commercial venture
o Community video such as school sporting events not broadcast from tv

Removal of Content
If your Basic or Premium account contains one or more of the prohibited video types described above, the entire account and its videos are subject to removal.
Please also note that no bypassing of the Motionbox player is allowed - videos using an alternate player will be removed.
Usage Restrictions
Bandwidth and Embedded Playback
o Basic members are entitled to 100 embedded plays per video per month, and 500 total embedded plays per month.
o Premium members are entitled to 1000 embedded plays per video per month, and 5000 embedded plays per month – either HD or SD.
o If your embedded videos exceed their monthly playback limits, the embedded player will be disabled, and your viewers will be redirected to Motionbox to view your video.
o Premium members who exceed their monthly embedded playback limits may be contacted by Motionbox staff about moving to a PRO hosting solution.
o If your videos are heavily streamed and you wish to cancel your Premium account, your videos may be removed with the cancellation of your Premium account.
